Pupils are expected to complete a weekly skills check which focuses on topics covered from the previous term’s work. Some pupils may have had this adapted to suit their need.
Alongside the skills check, there are some weekly problem-solving questions. Pupils who finish the skills check within the allotted time should also attempt these. Here, pupils are expected to apply maths concepts learnt in lessons to different scenarios, giving them a deep understanding of the maths studied.
Each pupil will be given a booklet at the start of each half-term with the completion dates on the front. Individual teachers may adjust these depending on their own working days, lesson time etc.
Pupils are expected to bring their booklet to their designated maths lesson, where it will be marked together in class. Here, any misconceptions or questions that pupils struggle with can be reviewed and explained.
